The League of Women Voters of Greenwich and their affiliate high school clubs are pleased to announce the winners of their 2nd annual essay contest for students in grades K-12. This year’s essay contest celebrates the first female vice president with the essay prompt, “Dear Madam Vice President”. Students were encouraged to write a letter to Vice President Harris, sharing their stories, advice, and wishes.
The League received close to 200 submissions. Students wrote an essay of up to five-hundred words. A panel of high school student judges followed an anonymous judging protocol to review the essays and choose three winners: one each for elementary school (K-5), middle school (6-8), and high school (9-12), along with honorable mentions in each category.
